Coach - coachee relationship

Coaching Agreement

This agreement outlines the foundations of our coaching relationship. Please read it carefully – it reflects how we’ll work together to create meaningful progress in a way that’s purposeful, respectful, and collaborative.

The nature of coaching

By entering into a coaching relationship, both the coach and the coachee agree that coaching:

  • Is a structured, forward-focused conversation designed to achieve measurable outcomes.

  • Works best when sessions occur every 2–3 weeks, allowing space for reflection and action.

  • May explore professional goals, leadership behaviours, mindset, and broader life factors that influence how you show up in your work.

  • Is not counselling or therapy. If a need arises for therapeutic support (e.g. mental health care), referral to a qualified professional may be suggested.

  • Is not a fix-all solution. Sometimes coaching isn’t the right fit, and we’ll revisit the approach together if needed.

Coachee commitments

To get the most from our coaching work together, you agree to:

  • Take ownership of the coaching process: This is your time and your development. I’ll support and challenge you, but you’re in the driver’s seat.
  • Book your sessions using the Calendly link provided. I recommend scheduling 3 or 4 in advance to maintain momentum. Sessions should be every 2-3 weeks unless agreed otherwise.
  • Show up prepared and on time: Please arrive ready to reflect, explore, and work on what matters most. Bring notes, thoughts, questions, or just an open mind.
  • Commit to actions between sessions: You decide what actions you’re committing to, and you’re responsible for following through. I’ll help you clarify next steps, but I won’t be checking your homework.
  • Make space to reflect: Growth comes not just from conversation, but from thinking differently. That might look like journaling, pausing for reflection, or testing a new approach in the real world.
  • Be open to feedback and challenge: I may reflect patterns, assumptions, or habits you haven’t noticed, always with care, always in service of your goals.
  • Speak up if something isn’t working: Coaching is a partnership. I welcome your honest input so we can tailor the experience to what’s most helpful for you.
Coach commitments

As your coach, I will:

  • Maintain confidentiality and uphold the International Coaching Federation (ICF) Code of Ethics.

  • Create a high-trust space for insight, experimentation, and meaningful progress.

  • Work with you to clarify outcomes and priorities that matter to you.

  • Apply contemporary, evidence-based coaching methods tailored to your context.

  • Engage with your organisation only if agreed, and only in ways that support your development.

  • Seek feedback and periodically reflect with you on your progress and outcomes.

Confidentiality and Ethics
  • What we discuss stays between us.

  • With your consent, I may share a high-level summary of themes (not content) with your organisation, if they are sponsoring your coaching.

  • I log names and dates of coaching sessions as part of my credentialing requirements with the ICF. No details of our conversations are ever shared.

Postponement Policy
  • Sessions can be rescheduled up to 24 hours in advance with no penalty.

  • Cancellations or reschedules within 24 hours of the session time will incur the full session fee, as well as fees for any makeup sessions.

Coaching isn’t about having all the answers, it’s about creating space to explore what matters, challenge what holds you back, and move forward with clarity and intention.

Think of me as your guide: I’ll walk alongside you, help you navigate obstacles, and point out new perspectives, but it’s your steps that create the path.

If this agreement is clear and aligned, you can close this window to return to the sign-up form to continue.

I’m looking forward to getting started and seeing where this journey takes you.
